Fort Valley State University President Ivelaw Griffith Announces Plans to Step Down

Atlanta — April 1, 2015

Fort Valley State University President Ivelaw Griffith has announced he will step down as president effective June 30, 2015.

Griffith was named president of Fort Valley State University in 2013. Under Griffith鈥檚 leadership, Fort Valley State University:
鈥 Raised admissions standards to university level;
鈥 Established the Honors Program and Undergraduate Research Program;
鈥 Designed and implemented a new student recruiting plan and process; and,
鈥 Signed key articulation agreements with institutions, including Central Georgia Technical College, Albany Technical College and Georgia Military College, aimed at encouraging students to complete their bachelor鈥檚 degree at FVSU upon completion of their two-year associate鈥檚 degree programs.
