Jennifer Frum Named Interim President of Armstrong State University

性视界APP Chancellor Steve Wrigley has named Dr. Jennifer Frum interim president of Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia.

聽 Frum currently serves as the vice president for public service and outreach at the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens. She oversees UGA鈥檚 outreach and engagement and economic development efforts throughout the state. She will assume her post at Armstrong State on July 1, 2017 upon the retirement of President Linda Bleicken.

鈥淛ennifer brings to Armstrong more than 20 years of experience dedicated to our University System鈥檚 mission of teaching, research and service,鈥 said Wrigley. 鈥淛ennifer has been a leader in our University System helping Georgia be competitive economically and preparing students to be better citizens. With Jennifer鈥檚 experience and skillset, she will play a key role in the consolidation of Armstrong and Georgia Southern that will benefit students, faculty, staff, the community and region.鈥

Frum previously served as interim vice president for public service and outreach and deputy director and interim director of the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute. She began at UGA in 1995 as a research professional in the office of international development. Prior to joining UGA, she worked for U. S. Representative Bob Wise.

Frum serves on the boards of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, the Athens Area Community Foundation, and Georgia Women of Achievement. She was named one of Georgia Trend鈥檚 2012 鈥淧ower Women鈥 in Georgia, was among Georgia Trend鈥檚 100 Most Influential Georgians in 2016 and 2017.

Frum earned a doctorate from the University of Georgia, a master鈥檚 degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a bachelor鈥檚 degree from West Virginia University in Morgantown.
