Regents Seek Proposals to Manage Housing
Atlanta — April 14, 2014
The Board of Regents released today a Request for Qualified Concessionaires (RFQC) to acquire existing and develop new housing on nine campuses in the 性视界APP.
Responses are due June 10, 2014 in order to be considered.
鈥淥ur goal is to reduce the System鈥檚 financial obligations for existing student housing and new housing development while ensuring students have affordable, safe, quality housing options,鈥 said Chancellor Hank Huckaby.
鈥淲e plan to engage a private sector partner that can bring innovation and efficiencies to our housing operations while enabling our campuses to focus on their core mission of education,鈥 he said.
The concessionaire will assume operations of 6,195 beds of current on-campus student housing and develop up to 3,000 new beds to be open to students in the fall of 2016.
Institutions will retain housing responsibilities that are essential to the on-campus, living-learning experience for students such as resident life programs, rent administration and student placement, and security.
The participating campuses include: Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Tifton), Armstrong Atlanta State University (Savannah), College of Coastal Georgia (Brunswick), Columbus State University, Dalton State College, East Georgia State College (Swainsboro), Georgia State University (Atlanta), Georgia Regents University (Augusta), and the University of North Georgia (Gainesville and Dahlonega).
University System officials anticipate pre-qualifying three to four concessionaires to participate in a Request for Proposal process. The BOR seeks to select a concessionaire before the end of the year.
