The 性视界APP negotiates a system-wide insurance policy that is mandatory for all study abroad participants. Starting August 1, 2024, the new Zurich policy will be administered by Gallagher鈥擴SG鈥檚 new insurance broker. The rates for the upcoming academic year (August 1, 2024 - July 31, 2025) for the new Zurich policy will be:

Gallagher has built websites for all USG schools. Please visit the Gallagher and type in the name of your school for your Zurich insurance ID card and other documents.

WHAT IS COVERED BY THE INSURANCE

A summary of benefits for all USG schools can be found in the USG Plan Brochure. This is primarily an international travel medical policy which can be utilized for unforeseen accidents and sicknesses that occur while you are abroad. The policy includes:
鈥 Medical coverage 鈥 up to $500,000 ($0 deductible; 100% coinsurance)
鈥 Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation 鈥 up to $2,000,000
鈥 Security Evacuation 鈥 up to $100,000
鈥 Emergency Dental Injury 鈥 up to the medical maximum ($500,000)
鈥 Mental/Nervous Disorders 鈥 up to the medical maximum for inpatient and outpatient ($500,000)
鈥 Pre-existing conditions (unexpected flare-ups) 鈥 up to the medical maximum ($500,000)

The Zurich policy also has trip inconvenience benefits such as:
鈥 Trip Cancellation - $5,000
鈥 Trip Interruption - $2,000
鈥 Travel Delay/Quarantine - $2,000
鈥 Baggage and Personal Effects - $500 maximum ($250 per item; $50 deductible)
鈥 Baggage Delay - $300 ($100 per day; 12 hour waiting period)

HOW TO USE THE INSURANCE

Please make sure to always have a copy of your ID card which can be found on your school .

The 24/7 Assistance Company for this insurance policy is On Call International. On Call International provides emergency medical and travel services and pre-trip information services. Please call or email when:
鈥 You require a referral to a hospital or doctor
鈥 You are hospitalized
鈥 You need to guarantee payment for medical expenses
鈥 You experience local communication problems
鈥 Your safety is threatened by the sudden occurrence of a security event
鈥 You have general travel questions

If you need to see a doctor abroad, and your condition is non-urgent, please call or email On Call International to open a case and have them set up a doctor鈥檚 appointment on your behalf. On Call will direct you to the most appropriate nearby provider based on your condition and attempt to arrange a guarantee of payment on your behalf with the provider. You will then show up to your appointment, present your policy number on your ID card, receive treatment and the provider will send the bill to Zurich on your behalf. This protocol will eliminate the need to pay out of pocket for your medical expenses.

If you do not follow this protocol, or if your condition is an emergency and you cannot open a case with On Call, then you will need to submit a claim for reimbursement.

HOW TO SUBMIT A MEDICAL CLAIM

If you pay out of pocket for a covered medical expense while you are abroad on a covered trip, you will need to submit a claim for reimbursement.

STEP 1: Fill out this medical claim form Zurich Medical Reimbursement Claim Form
STEP 2: Gather all of your itemized bills and receipts from the provider and turn them into PDFs (if possible)
STEP 3: Email the completed claim form and all itemized bills and receipts to GallagherZurich@hsri.com
STEP 4: Wait 10-20 business days for the claim to be processed and for a reimbursement check to be sent to you. If anything else is needed from you to process the claim, the claims company (Health Special Risk, Inc.) will reach out to you directly.

If you need to submit a non-medical claim (Trip Cancellation, Baggage Delay, etc.), please go to the 鈥楥laims Company鈥 tab on the Gallagher website and fill out the appropriate claim form.

VOLUNTARY SELF-ENROLLMENT

Please note that the USG also allows travelers to enroll into this policy on a voluntary basis.

STEP 5: Fill out the enrollment form
STEP 6: Pay for your coverage via credit card

Cancel for Any Reason Insurance (CFAR)

USG recommends that travelers consider purchasing Cancellation & Interruption For Any Reason (CFAR) insurance for international trips. CFAR insurance can help protect your investment in your trip in the event the trip is cancelled before departing or interrupted during a trip for any reason.

CFAR/IFAR insurance will cover: A percentage of your program fees, housing, and flights if your program is canceled or you withdraw from the program for any reason if these expenses are non-refundable.
CFAR/IFAR insurance will not cover: any program fees, housing, or flights that are refunded through your program, housing, or airline as a result of a trip interruption or cancellation.

USG鈥檚 recommended vendor for this insurance is . Please note that in order to qualify for the Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) benefit, you must purchase the insurance within 14 days of the date that you make your first non-refundable trip payment. For example, if you make your first non-refundable trip payment on July 1st (flight, lodging, excursion, etc.), you will have until July 14th to purchase this coverage and gain access to the CFAR benefit.
