Mechanisms
Simon TAU S is a road light luminaire that balances technical performance, quality and price, allowing the intensive introduction of the most efficient LED technology when upgrading current road lighting.
Light Control
A wide variety of road lighting optical solutions to optimise and precisely direct light flux, adapting it to the needs of the project.
Luminaire equipped for telemanagement and sensor management; option of installing a ZHAGA/NEMA connector on the top and a ZHAGA connector on the bottom.
Self-cleaning system using rain water. The water escapes without dirtying the luminaire and lighting performance is not affected over time.
The TAU S Istanium LED Vial luminaire has been designed to provide a solution for different road lighting applications such as motorways and dual carriageways, roads, industrial areas, pedestrian zones, residential areas, roundabouts and intersections, functional roads, streets and avenues, parking areas, sports facilities and large surfaces.
Istanium LED technology
High-performance Istanium LED technology provides high-quality LED light and makes our solutions environmentally friendly and people friendly, by ensuring lighting quality over time.

Simon’s configurator provides high quality light to reduce light pollution and energy consumption
2N- Dimming without control line; self-dimming
The luminaire’s electronic control gear has a programmed timer that reduces the power by half 4.5 hours after it is turned on.
2N+ Dimming with control line
The electronic control gear has an input that connects it to the electrical cabinet. When the cabinet activates the voltage on the control line, the device delivers 100% of the nominal power to the Istanium LED module. When the cabinet disconnects the control line (0 volts), the device reduces the power by half.
CAD cabinet amplitude dimming
The luminaire’s electronic control gear adapts to the supply current of the Istanium LED modules, in proportion to the line input voltage. The amplitude dimming electrical cabinet must have a device that regulates the line voltage to reduce the light level of the luminaire. This dimming type is ideal to take advantage of installations with existing cabinet equipment installations.
1N without dimming
The electronic control gear delivers 100% of the power without a dimming option. If there is any fluctuation in the device’s line voltage, the supply current of the Istanium LED modules compensates to maintain the light flux (input voltage from 208 to 277 VAC). Likewise, if the electrical cabinet has a cabinet amplitude dimming device, the device will not dim the lamp (requires an Istanium LED luminaire with CAD dimming)
1-10 Dimming governed by 1-10V protocol
The electronic control gear delivers the output power to the Istanium LED modules according to the level indicated by the 1-10 signal (normally delivered by a remote management device).
DALI dimming regulated by DALI protocol
The electronic control gear delivers the output power to the Istanium LED modules according to the level indicated by the DALI signal (normally delivered by a remote management device).
